Textivate icon reference

New resource

On the home / edit page. Click this icon to clear the contents of all of the tabs on the home page before embarking on a new resource.

Upload

On the home / edit page. Once you have created your resource and are ready to upload it to the textivate server, click this icon to add the name of your resource, extra information, tags etc and upload it. You need to have a full (teacher) log-in in order to upload resources.

Local storage

On the home / edit page. This icon deals with textivate resources stored locally on your device, as part of your web browser's local storage. Click this icon to save a resource in local storage, or to access resources that you already have saved in local storage. All users can save resources in local storage, and it is a good option for students wishing to save their resources for access later on the same device.
N.B. Since locally stored resources are stored as part of your browser's memory cache, deleting your browser's cache will mean that you will delete any locally stored resources.

Search / Browse

On the home / edit page and the menu page. Click this for access to your own uploaded resources, as well as to thousands of resources uploaded by other textivate users as public resources. All users who are logged in (including with a student password) can access the public resources. Teacher log-ins also provide access to your own resources, your recently viewed resources and your favourites.

Gradebook

On the home / edit page. Click this to view sequence scores uploaded by your students (available to Premium and Group subscribers).

Challenges

On the home / edit page. Click this to create a scoreboard challenge, to view details of or edit your existing challenges. (This is available to Premium and Group subscribers only.)

Save changes

On the home / edit page. This icon appears at the top right of the text box if (a) you are logged in and (b) you make any change to one of your own, already uploaded resources. For example, if you spot and correct a spelling mistake in a text, add another matching item, modify any detail of a sequence, add a parallel text, etc, etc, if you make any change at all this icon will appear. Click this to save the changes to your uploaded resource.

Colour scheme

On the home / edit page and the menu page. Click this icon to run through a sequence of 6 colour schemes: blue (default), orange, green, pink, aqua, red.

Scores, records, etc

On the home / edit page, the menu page and all activity pages. The information displayed depends on the page that you are on. On the home page and the menu page, it shows a list of all of the recent activities completed on your device, including scores, time taken, etc. Additionally, on activity pages, after completing the particular activity, this icon allows you to access the score, time and feedback for that particular activity.

Favourite

On the home / edit page, the menu page and all activity pages. This icon appears for all resources uploaded to textivate (your own as well as those uploaded by others). Click it to add the resource to your list of favourites. Once favourited, the icon appears as gold.

Information about the resource

On the home / edit page, the menu page and all activity pages. This icon appears for all resources uploaded to textivate (your own as well as those uploaded by others). Click it to find out the resource title, who it was uploaded by, any search tags added to it and any additional information about the resource (which may include a link to an external site).

Share

On the home / edit page, the menu page and all activity pages. This icon appears for all resources uploaded to textivate as public or shareable resources (your own as well as those uploaded by others). Click it to get the URL for that particular page, to tweet a link or share or like on facebook. On activity pages, you can use this icon to get the embed code for that particular activity.

Help

All activity pages. This icon appears for all activity pages irrespective of whether or not the resource has been uploaded or saved. Click it to get a brief description of and instructions for the particular activity.

Video

On the menu page and all activity pages, if the resource has a video URL included either in the video section of the "Extras" tab or in the additional information for the resource. This icon appears irrespective of whether or not the resource has been uploaded or saved. Click the video icon to open the current page along with an embedded video player. (Once it is opened, you can close the video using the 'close video' icon.)

Audio

On the menu page and all activity pages, if the resource has an audio URL included either in the audio section of the "Extras" tab or in the additional information for the resource. This icon appears irrespective of whether or not the resource has been uploaded or saved. Click the audio icon to open the current page along with an embedded audio player. (Once it is opened, you can close the audio using the 'close audio' icon.)

Big picture

On the menu page and all activity pages, if the resource has an image URL included either in the image section of the "Extras" tab or in the additional information for the resource. This icon appears irrespective of whether or not the resource has been uploaded or saved. Click the image icon to open the current page along with an embedded big image. (Once it is opened, you can close the image using the 'close image' icon.)

Parallel text

On the menu page and all activity pages, if the resource has a parallel text included in the parallel text section of the "Extras" tab. This icon appears irrespective of whether or not the resource has been uploaded or saved. Click the parallel text icon to open the current page along with the parallel text. (Once it is opened, you can close the parallel text using the 'close parallel text' icon.)
