Le samedi 14 juin l'Angleterre a joué contre l'Italie. L'Italie est une équipe très forte et on attendait un match difficile. Les deux équipes ont très bien joué mais c'est l'Italie qui a remporté la victoire.
On a commencé le match très fort et Raheem Sterling a très bien joué. Il a presque marqué un but après trois minutes! Puis deux minutes plus tard une frappe puissante d'Henderson a été repoussée par le gardien italien, Sirigu.
Mais c'est l'Italie qui a marqué le premier but à la 35e minute - Andrea Pirlo a laissé passer le ballon pour Claudio Marchisio qui a marqué d'un tir superbe des 20 mètres.
L'Angleterre a répondu tout de suite: moins de deux minutes plus tard Sturridge a marqué l'égaliseur sur un excellent centre de Wayne Rooney, et à la mi-temps le score était de 1-1.
Pendant la deuxième mi-temps l'Angleterre a très bien joué. On avait beaucoup d'occasions de buts, et on aurait dû marquer plus de buts. On Saturday June 14th England played against Italy. Italy is a very strong team and we expected a tough game. Both teams played well but it was Italy who won the victory.
We started very strong and Raheem Sterling played a great game. He almost scored a goal after three minutes! Then two minutes later a powerful shot Henderson was blocked by the Italian keeper Sirigu.
But it was Italy who scored the first goal in the 35th minute - Andrea Pirlo let the ball run to Claudio Marchisio who scored a superb strike from 20 yards.
England responded immediately: less than two minutes later Sturridge scored the equalizer from an excellent cross from Wayne Rooney, and at half time the score was 1-1.
During the second half England played very well. We had a lot of scoring opportunities, and we should have scored more goals. But Balotelli scored the only goal of the second half in the 50th minute thanks to a cross from Candreva. Andrea Pirlo almost scored a third for Italy in added time when his free kick found the Joe Hart's crossbar.
It's a disappointing result because we played very well. What is certain is that the match against Uruguay will be very difficult because they lost their first game too. For the team that loses this next game, it's all over!
